ir77 is a book and a movie, ir77 literally is the atomic symbol and number for the chemical element, iridium. Iridium is the goggle lens color we use on sunny days. It is a shiny metallic, really cool looking color, but ultimately hard to define...... just like snowboarding. Get it?

The Movie Under the direction of Jess Gibson, the ir77 crew set sail on an international filming mission in the fall of 2005. Their goal was to collect footage from all types of snowboarders in all corners of the world. The crew is driven to make an original film that tells the complete story of passion and snowboarding.

The Book In the Fall of 2004 over 40 photographers, artists and riders from 9 different countries began a collaboration that has grown to be the "ir77 book". They were invited to submit work regarding five chosen experiences in snowboarding: Anticipation, Dedication, Stories, Pain and Exhilaration. It is a cooperative effort to take a completely new and thought provoking approach to snowboard media. The result is a group narrative that explores and shares the raw energy of snowboarding.
